01 What we collect

We collect only what is needed to run matches, maintain rankings, and keep accounts secure:

• Account data. Display name, email, and the Discord/Google ID you sign in with.
• Gameplay data. Guesses, match results, XP, rank, and season progress.
• Technical data. Device type, IP address, and basic logs for security.

02 How we use it

Your data is used to operate matchmaking, compute scores and rankings, prevent cheating and abuse, and send account-related messages. We do not sell your personal data — ever.

03 Discord & Google sign-in

When you sign in with Discord or Google, we receive a basic profile (name, avatar, email, account ID) to create your Overlap account. We never receive your password, and we request the minimum scopes required. You can revoke access from your Discord or Google account settings at any time.

04 Who we share with

We share data only with service providers who help us run Overlap (hosting, analytics, anti-cheat) under strict confidentiality, or when required by law. Other players see your public profile: display name, avatar, rank, and match history.

05 Your rights & controls

You are in control of your data:

• Access & export. Request a copy of your data from Settings → Privacy.
• Correction. Update your profile details at any time.
• Deletion. Delete your account and associated personal data.

06 Data retention

We keep account data while your account is active. When you delete your account, personal data is removed within 30 days, except limited records we must retain for security or legal reasons. Anonymized, aggregate stats may be kept to improve the game.

07 Cookies & local storage

We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and remember settings such as your last match position. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

08 Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your data, we will announce it in-app and by email before the change takes effect. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
