Terms of Service

These Terms govern your access to and use of Overlap — the multiplayer guessing game where two teams try to land on the same answer. By creating an account or playing a match, you agree to everything below.

01 Accepting these terms

By registering, connecting a Discord or Google account, or otherwise using Overlap, you confirm you have read and agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

If you use Overlap on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization to these Terms.

02 Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum digital-consent age in your country) to play. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account.

  • One human, one account. Automated or shared accounts may be suspended.
  • Accurate info. Keep your display name and contact email current.
  • Your security. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.

03 Fair play & conduct

Overlap is a social game and depends on good faith. The following will result in match penalties, rank resets, or a ban:

  • Cheating. Bots, scripts, or exploiting bugs to influence scoring.
  • Harassment. Hate speech, threats, or targeted abuse of other players.
  • Collusion. Coordinating outside the match to manipulate rankings.

04 Your content

You keep ownership of the guesses, usernames, and messages you submit. By posting them you grant Overlap a worldwide, royalty-free license to host and display that content solely to operate and improve the game. You are responsible for anything you submit.

05 Virtual items & season passes

Overlap may offer cosmetic items, XP boosts, and season passes. These are licensed, not sold — they have no cash value, are non-transferable, and may expire when a season ends. Purchases are final except where refunds are required by law.

06 Suspension & termination

You may delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, create risk for other players, or where required by law. Cosmetic and season entitlements do not survive a terminated account.

07 Disclaimers & liability

Overlap is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or incidental damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

08 Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms as the game evolves. Material changes will be announced in-app and by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to play after that means you accept the revised Terms.
